Salisbury Is Out of Control and Should Be Fired

In an item highlighted by The Big Lead yesterday, Sean Salisbury is shown ripping into ESPN co-worker John Clayton, and goes way too far with an insulting personal attack that had nothing to do with the on-air debate during a Sportscenter '4 Downs' segment. View it here:


At the 1:17 mark Salisbury calls Clayton 'Captain Obvious,' then at the 1:24 mark he calls him 'Crypt Keeper...Tales From the Crypt,' then at the end he says 'I need to get another sign painted for you, clown.'

Even if Clayton might be the elder of the NFL bunch at ESPN, or if Salisbury has a problem with him for whatever reason, you absolutely do not attack a co-worker on air with derogatory personal attacks. Aside from the fact that Clayton set the bar for NFL reporting at ESPN, Salisbury is so far out of line it isn't funny.

This isn't the first time Salisbury has run amok. He was suspended by ESPN last year for taking pictures of his 'dick in a box (minus the box),' and then showing the pictures to 'numerous uncomfortable women.'

It's time for ESPN to cut the cord. Aside from the fact that Salisbury is no stranger to using too much hyperbole far too often, and being an average NFL analyst, his irresponsible behavior should not be repeatedly tolerated.
