Lakeshow Continue to Roll, Smash New Look Hawks 122-93

The new look Atlanta Hawks looked kind of like the old look Atlanta Hawks, getting steamrolled by 29 points by the Los Angeles Lakers at the Staples Center in LA. New point guard Mike Bibby came in and performed just like the rest of Altana's point guards, contributing a whopping 5 points and 3 assists before picking up his 4th foul and hitting the bench for good, with his team down by 35.

Shooting out of the gates to an 18 point lead through one quarter, the Lakers expanded the lead to 41 at one point en route to another victory. Los Angeles had 6 players in double figures, and shot 51.1% from the field. The Lakers got solid contributions from Kobe Bryant (23 pts, 5 reb, 3 ast, 5 stl), Pau Gasol (23 pts, 6 reb), and Lamar Odom (17 pts, 15 reb), all of whom sat out the 4th quarter, as the Lakers were comfortably ahead by 28 after three quarters.

The new look Lakers improved to 6-1 with Pau Gasol in the lineup, and are now 36-17 on the year, momentarily sitting as the 3rd seed in the West. The loss drops Atlanta 21-29 for the year, but sitting only in 9th seed and 1.5 games behind 8th seed Philadelphia for the final Eastern Conference playoff spot.
