Backup QB Todd Collins Re-Signs With Redskins for 3 Years, $9 Million

Don Banks of SI.com reports that backup quarterback Todd Collins has agreed to a 3-year $9 million contract to stay with the Washington Redskins. The 36-year old Collins went 3-0 as a starter for Washington at the end of 2007, and was rumored to be a target of the St. Louis Rams, Jacksonville Jaguars, and other teams seeking backup quarterback help.

The deal includes a $3 million signing bonus, and will keep Collins with the team as an insurance policy if 2005 1st round draft pick Jason Campbell doesn't turn out to be the team's quarterback of the future.
