Broncos Ink WR Bust Keary Colbert to 3-Year Deal

The Denver Broncos have come to terms on a contract with free agent wide receiver Keary Colbert on a 3-year deal worth $7.2 million, including a $2.5 million signing bonus, according to SI.com's Bucky Brooks. Colbert will compete with Brandon Stokley and Brandon Marshall for the starting receiver positions.

A former 2nd round draft pick out of USC in 2004, Colbert has posted 109 receptions for 1424 yards and 7 touchdowns in 100 games with the Carolina Panthers the past four years. That translates to an average of 27.25 catches, 356 yards, and 1.75 touchdowns per year, which is exactly what you would expect from your team's 5th receiver. The only problem is, the Broncos are expecting him to be a #2 receiver.
