Hornets Sting Suns 120-103, Completing 4-0 Sweep of Season Series

This season's surprise team, the New Orleans Hornets, continued their mastery of the Phoenix Suns this season, with a 120-103 victory at New Orleans Arena. The Hornets snapped a 3 game skid that dropped them from the top of the Western Conference to the #3 seed, and improved to 38-18 on the year.

NBA MVP candidate Chris Paul continued his domination of the best point guards in the league, outplaying 2 time MVP Steve Nash yet again, and leading his team to victory. Buoyed by Paul (25 pts, 15 asts, 3 stl), David West (27 pts, 4 reb, 2 stl), and Tyson Chandler (12 pts, 15 reb), the Hornets outscored the Suns by 16 in the pivotal 3rd quarter to put the game away for good, after a back and forth battle in the 1st half.

Despite a monster game from power forward Amare Stoudemire (32 pts, 14 reb, 4 blk, 1 stl) and good shooting from the field (47.9% FG, 50% 3PT), Phoenix couldn't keep up with the New Orleans fast break, nor could they really shut down anybody when the pace slowed for a possession here or there. The Suns now sit at #5 in the West with a 39-19 record, and are just 2-3 with newcomer Shaquille O'Neal in the lineup.
