Chris Paul and Hornets Trump Deron Williams and Jazz 110-98

With seemingly and unspoken motivation to prove he is the best point guard in the league, Chris Paul continues to chew up and spit out opposing guards and teams in his conquest to be the best. The NBA's other young premier point guard, Deron Williams, was the latest to fall as the New Orleans Hornets downed the Utah Jazz 110-98 at New Orleans Arena. Paul racked up 24 points, 16 assists, and 5 steals to help the Hornets go on a 23-0 run and build a 27-point lead in the 1st half, then hold on to win even after Utah attempted a frantic 2nd half comeback.

Having outplayed other All Star point guards Steve Nash and Jason Kidd over the past month, Paul was all over the court, and helped harass Williams into 4 turnovers. David West kicked in 25 points and 13 boards, and Peja Stojakovic added 20 for the Hornets, who move to 39-18 with the win (currently #3rd place in the Western Conference). The loss dropped Utah to 38-22, but they still maintain the 4th seed and home court advantage for the 1st round if the NBA playoffs were to start today.
