Texans Add CB Jacque Reeves With 5-Year $20 Million Contract

The Houston Texans have signed cornerback Jacque Reeves to a 5-year $20 million contract, including almost $8 million guaranteed. Reeves is expected to start opposite cornerback Fred Bennet next year, as Dunta Robinson will probably miss the first half of the year while recovering from a torn ACL and torn hamstring suffered last season.

The Dallas Cowboys drafted Reeves out of Purdue in the 7th round of the 2004 NFL Draft, and he was mainly used as a nickel (3rd) and dime (4th) cornerback until 2007, when he started 13 games in the Cowboys weak secondary. Dallas made no move to re-sign him, and will likely look to the draft to help replenish the position.
