#8 Georgetown Falls 77-70 to Syracuse, Who Still Won't Make NCAA Tourney of 64

The Georgetown Hoyas (ranked #8 in the ESPN/USA Today coaches poll) have been upset for the second time in three games, this time to Syracuse 77-70. After narrowly averting a disastrous loss to Villanova on Monday, thanks for the help of a BS call by the refs, the Hoyas weren't so lucky or close this time around, being generally outplayed in all phases of the game by the Orange.

With the help of Paul Harris' 22 points and 8 rebounds, Syracuse built a 21 point 1st half lead before Georgetown made a run in the 2nd half to make it interesting, in a generally uninteresting game. The benches for both teams were almost non-existent, with Syracuse getting 4 points and 5 rebounds from their bench, and Georgetown getting only 2 points and 4 rebounds from theirs.

The loss drops Georgetown to 20-4, and helps Syracuse improve to 17-9, but with losses to a number of mediocre teams, and with tough games against Notre Dame, Pitt, and Louisville on the horizon, expect Syracuse to once again be on the outside of the bubble looking in as the NCAA selection committee makes their final picks.
