Soon To Be Former Bear Adam Archuleta's Dogs Poisoned in AZ

Soon to be former Chicago Bears safety Adam Archuleta recently returned to his home in Chandler, Arizona, to find his two dogs dead on the ground. Chandler police have no leads into the death of Ace and Ren, but believe they were poisoned. After investigating the scene, they found strange lumps mixed in with the dogs' food, and after a necropsy was performed on the dogs, it was determined that the Chihuahuas had died of strychnine poisoning.

Archuleta was acquired by the Bears last offseason in a trade with the Washington Redskins for a 5th round draft choice in the 2007 NFL Draft. Archuleta quickly fell out of favor in Washington after signing what was, at the time, the largest ever contract for a safety. Bears coach Lovie Smith, who had coached Archuleta during their time together on the St. Louis Rams, felt that Archuleta could still play, but quickly found out otherwise during the 2007 season. His lackluster performance will likely result in him being cut by the Bears sometime this February or March.
