Redskins Tab Jim Zorn As Next Head Coach To Be Fired

The Washington Redskins coaching search has ended, by promoting the offensive coordinator they hired two weeks ago to head coach. Zorn, who has never been a head coach at any level, and has never been an NFL offensive coordinator even, is expected to install a West Coast passing attack on offense. Zorn will get a 5-year $15 million deal as part of the bump, but he'll probably only have to coach 2 or 3 years of that max, before ultimately being fired, and collecting the balance of the contract on a sunny beach elsewhere.

'Skins owner Daniel Snyder and GM Vinny Cerrato continue to run the franchise into the ground by hiring a weak head coach who will do little to challenge how things are done with the team, and who won't even be able to hire his own staff, as the GM has already done so for him. Zorn will mark the 5th head coaching hire for Snyder since he took control of the Redskins in 1997, with the average head coach serving 2 years during that time. Look for continued mediocrity in the state's capital, as there are too many cooks in the kitchen, and they're not gourmet chefs.
