Lakeshow Rolls Heat, Who Fall To NBA Worst 9-40

The Los Angeles Lakers continue to roll, and continue to win in different ways after the acquisition of power forward Pau Gasol. Pushing the lead to 17 in the 4th quarter before the Heat made a run, the Lakeshow downed the pathetic Miami Heat 104-94, on the back of 33 from Kobe Bryant, and 30 points off the bench, including 13 from Sasha Vujacic (voo-ya-chich). The Lakers also got solid contributions from Lamar Odom (15 pts, 18 boards, 6 ast) and Pau Gasol (12 pts, 7 boards).

Newly acquired Shawn Marion continued to terrorize the Lakers (15 pts, 14 boards, 4 ast, 3 steals, 3 blocks) as he did when he was with the Suns, and all Heat starters scored in double figures for the fourth time this season, but it wasn't enough. Getting only 13 points from your bench will often do that, and this continues to be a major reason why the Heat are leading the chase for the most ping pong balls in the NBA Draft Lottery this coming May. This, the abysmal performance of the Heat this year, the composition of the roster, and the signing of Smush Parker to an actual NBA contract continue to be an indictment of the Heat front office, and Pat Riley specifically. I mean, did he not see Smush Parker 'play' for the Lakers last year? He's like a one man supernatural hex on your team. Look for Riles to hang up the coaching jacket once and for all this offseason, and stick to just making decisions as an NBA general manager for the rest of his time with the Heat.
